It felt vitally important to me that I attend today’s coalition rally downtown and also important to me that my kids were with me and that my seven year old son,Tristan understand well enough why we were there to be engaged and feel a stake in the historic occasion.  I thought long and hard about how I could explain enough without boring him or falling prey to the temptation to just brainwash him with my own political perspectives.  I hope that this inspires other parents to discuss politics with their kids.  Children have an innate and beautifully clear sense of justice.  You don’t have to tell them how it is...just show them the math and ask them what is important to them.  Please share this with others you think may enjoy it.  My husband is out of the country and will be very sad to have missed this historic event.  My efforts today are a tribute to him and his love of politics and I believe that today foundation was built for he and Tristan to enjoy a lifetime of lively political debate and thoughtful discussion together.  Best viewed by scrolling down rather than using the ‘Play Slideshow’ option.
