chicken pox party

today i got a letter in the mail and it was card from my great grandmother and my great grandfather. they sent me a card with money in it. the money was for a party for the end of my chicken pox!

I decided to do the party by going to a movie at a movie theatre.

maybe you can come, but you would have to pay for yourselves!

my chicken pox are healing. They are almost gone.

but my brother has chicken pox now. We found that out when we saw 10 spots on him this morning. Phelan is going to have chicken pox. (well - phelan is my brother.)

DAY 8 - MONDAY

hello everyone on the day of monday. it’s a good day today. today i went to school. it was the best thing in the world! Don’t you know?! it’s great to be back at school with my friends and everyone.

my mom surprised me by taking me for a haircut. we can show you my mohawk.

the same time.

i went to the bakery and got a special
treat. it was a custard tart.

i showed my spots to some of my friends
and they went crazy! They went, “Ahhhh”,
“Waaaaah”, “Get me away from you”, “I’m
going to get chicken pox!”

I said they’re scabbing so they can’t catch
it from me. They just think they can get
it from me.

MY SCABS ARE HEALING. IT’S HARD NOT TO
PICK THEM. IT’S ALSO FUN TO PICK THEM...
BUT BAAAAD! IF I PICK THEM THEY LEAK.

LEAKING IS BLEEDING, BUT IT’S CALLED ‘LEAKING’.

IF I PICK THEM, I CAN ALSO GET SCARS...
(OOOOOOOOOOH!)

DAY 7 - SUNDAY

SUNDAY WAS AN ITCHY DAY. IT WAS A FUN DAY OF A DOG.

I WENT AND TOOK MY DOG FOR A WALK. IT WAS THE GREATEST THING IN THE WORLD. WE WENT TO THE DOG PARK AND WE HAD FUN. IT WAS A GREAT TIME. WE MADE A SNOW MAN, WE WENT SNOWBOARDING WITH A CRAZY CARPET INSTEAD OF A SNOWBOARD. MY DOG WAS PLAYING (THAT YOU SEE RIGHT HERE) WITH OTHER DOGS. IT WAS FUN. YOU SHOULD HAVE BEEN THERE! WE MADE A SNOW PILE FOR THE CRAZY CARPET. IT WAS FUN. I WAS WITH MY MOM HAVING A FUN TIME.

WHEN I CAME BACK, I ASKED FOR HOT CHOCOLATE, BUT WE RAN OUT OF MILK.

I STILL HAD FUN.

DAY 6 - SATURDAY

It doesn’t really itch today but it does hurt a little lot. Well not like a lot lot. I have no new spots. Every single one looks red and they are starting to scab.

I was playing, playing, Playing with my friend today. he already had chicken pox, it doesn’t matter to him that much. i was playing with the friend you saw wearing the helmet. he slept over. i turned my couch into a bed and we snuggled up with my doggy-dog-do! Woohoo!

i went sledding at the school today. i took the crazy carpet down the slide. it was super duper big blast!

well i’m going to have an oatmeal bath right now because i’m a little bit itchy.

DAY 5 - FRIDAY

When I woke up this morning I felt a little bit itchy. my spots are starting to dry up.

I did fun stuff today. i had a friend come over. he has already had chicken pox.

We went sliding down an icy hill. i maybe will come to school on monday! i didn’t have any oatmeal baths today because i wasn’t that itchy.

it feels like all the pain went into my mouth because i have spots in my mouth.

thank you for all the comments on my blog. they are really great. They are making me feel better. maybe that’s why the spots are not itching so much.

DAY 4 - THURSDAY

I really, REALLY, REALLY feel itchy. It itches and hurts. I feel mad. I want the chicken pox to just be impossible. I feel like I want to just make them get out of me and give it to heaven then heaven can kill it and we will never have it ever again.

i had them in my mouth. i had them around my eyes. i had them on my lips. i had them everywhere!

it was too crazy.

i felt too frustrated. i want the chicken pox to be dead!

i only had baths and watched movies because i was too frustrated.

my grandmother made cookies with me. my auntie read me stories and brought me books on cds and a movie about insects from the library.

and my mom made robots all day and aliens!

DAY 3 - WEDNESDAY

It was like really itchy this day. So I had 3 baths. They helped a little with the oatmeal in it.

i had too many spots to count. we just didn’t count them!

i’m telling you, you won’t like it. even if you like staying home - you still won’t like chicken pox. they itch everywhere and they itch you everywhere and itch you to death! they itched me to death. some of them pop and hurt.

i took this special chicken pox medicine that’s supposed to help with the itching. it didn’t help much. maybe it will work another day.

i went to the toronto public library website and listened to some books with headphones. i watched movies in the bathtub and i made grape jello and it made me not think of my chicken pox.

i had a nap when i was listening to ‘just so stories’ by rudyard kipling.

DAY 2 - TUESDAY

I had more spots. We went to the doctor and he said I had chicken pox. Mom and I bought this oatmeal bath to help me not itch. My spots itched a little bit.

Later on my mom counted my spots. I had 70.

Later on, I had 150 spots and it was itching more and more. On Tuesday night I had my first oatmeal bath. The bath made me feel a little bit better.

Something hurt on my back.

I told my teacher and then my mom came and I stayed at home.

I had 5 spots.
